Premium live tracking

The problem with the current “share” option is the trip is done, and all you can do is share history. Scenic has a wonderful live tracking feature for on my device, but I can’t share it with my friends as I go.

I would pay credits for a premium live tracking on the Web App, for my family, and friends via invitation, so they can see my progress. In route I could stop and take pictures - with captions, I could send private notes to family, or more public notes to friends, and they would show on the breadcrumb route. When the ride is finished, it would be saved as public or private just like always.

Im looking for an alternative to SpotWalla, and I think Scenic is the best candidate with just a few(?) tweaks.
I am a Premium Forever member, but I would be more than willing to buy more credits for this premium, pay-as-you-go feature.

totally understand. This feature is on the list to add his year.

Meanwhile, for your family members, perhaps you could use ‘find my friends’ or WhatsApp location sharing on parallel to Scenic?!

Thanks for the quick response. Having it on the agenda for the big update is a good thing, however, I really think it should be Pay-as-you-go because this is an extra live burden on the website and should support itself. Once in place, features can be developed to flesh it out.

Is this feature on the radar for the year’s big update? It would be heavily used and is a great benefit!

I understand the benefit. It won't be in the big upgrade from the start. It is on the feature request list though.

YES, "Premium Live Tracking for a Spring 24 Update" sounds quite compelling! (hint, hint)

However, I think Guido has quite the handful on his hands with this Tiger he has unleashed. It's good to know that "Premium Live Tracking" is definitely on the Feature Request List. He will get to it in due time - as he sees fit; the more riders requesting it the better. I for one am salivating for the imminent arrival of the latest rendition of Senic. I'm sure new features, and feature updates will keep us busy for quite a while as we explore them.

Guido, thank you for this great navigational aid. It truly fits the need for those of us who view the destination as the excuse for the wondrous adventures of the ride.

No argument from me!

As I’ve said, I would pay extra for something like this. This being live tracking for invited guests to the Scenic web site, I can see a time limited pay-per-use payment structure, which would help underwrite the feature.

I haven’t forgotten about this. It’s still on the list. However at the moment there are higher priority things I need to work on, preventing me from working on these bigger new features.

Absolutely, you have your hands full squashing bugs, developing / fleshing out other facets on this beautiful diamond.

Thank you for being so responsive through the years. Your care for this sets Scenic apart from all the others.

Hi Guido,

Thanks again for all of your efforts making this the best motorcycle app!! I'm curious as well if live tracking is in the near future, hopefully the new map provider will make this easier to accomplish! I was looking into Spotwalla and came to the forums to see if it can be used with Scenic for live tracking but I didn't see anything related to confirm.
