i am not advertising anything or have financial interests. I read a lot of comments in this forum - almost every topic.

I found this app in a motorcycle journey forum here in Germany.
A lot of bikers ask Guido to take quick pictures of a certain spot while navigating with scenic or mark an interesting point of view or a special location for a snack or lunch break.

This app is offering even more. You can track your journey, include pictures you took along the route and add text for each day of your journey.

So you get a diary of each journey you did. And back home you may order a printed booklet of the whole trip.

Dont get me wrong, not comparing it to secenic, i see it as an additional app for folks doing long trips and appreciate to have a diary afterwards, which can be shared with buddies, neighbours, aunties, etc.

Hello Mex,

Do you have any additional feedback about Polarsteps? I started to test the app to document old trips and initially I found it quite useful. I'm wondering if you continue using it and if you have additional insights.

The first issue I found to document an old ride is that we can't import a GPX file to draw the map, but using it for new trips this won't be needed.

I was planning to leave it open with Travel Tracker activated, while I am using Scenic to guide the route. Is this the way you use it? Any other tip?

Hi Maneno.

I used polarsteps on my travel to Monaco. The first 2 days i forgot to allow polarsteps to track my ride.
The whole trip was 3.600 km but it recorded 2.160. Next time i“ll know better.

What i like:

Add pictures of your current postition. They will be shown on the map.

See the complete trip on your map.

Add text afterwards. I always create a diary for longer trips an added the daily text to polarsteps.

While back home i created foto-books of the whole trip as a present for my wingman and my mother. They are pretty expensive. 70€ for 138 pages but the quality is awesome.

What i dislike:

Could be more selfexplaining.

Text inserted will be below each picture you take. One text for one day.

Fonts are pretty small in the printed books. Maybe my fault, will check this for the next book. I gonna add more route information. Took a screenshot of everydays ride, like this:

After all its a nice app. People are suprized of the quality of paper and fotos. 1 buddy followed our ride while he was at home. You“ll get a kind of diary.

No idea how to import older trips. I have lots of photos and diarys of the last 10 years. Maybe i try to create another book.
