POI integration

How can I integrate my own POI files?

Scenic can import waypoints in a GPX file as POI group. Or you can copy paste as CSV by copy pasting the CSV in the poi data field when you create a new poi group.

Hello Guido, I am too stupid to import a CSV file with copy and paste. Please explain it to me step by step.

What format (what columns) is your CSV file now?

It needs to contain the 3 columns like mentioned in the header of the POi data field. (name, lat, lon).

If your CSV contains more columns, you need to open in spreadsheet and make sure it only contains those 3 columns. Then save as CSV. Open CSV in text editor > copy > paste.

If you have the POIs as waypoints in a GPX file the import is easier. Simply import the GPX into Scenic, select all the waypoints and follow the steps

If you want me to have a further look, please send me the file you have now (  use the email button at the bottom of  the help page). I don’t have time tomorrow as I’m having a small surgery, but I’ll respond by the end of this week

Guido,

Is there any plan to allow a <desc> field to be imported into POIs from a GPX file? Also if so during a ride could you click on it and view the description?

Thanks!

It's on the (ever growing) list, but quite low in priority. I can't give any date for it at this moment.
