Planning using Google MyMaps

When planning routes on my MacBook I either use MyRoute App or Google MyMaps. I have always like Google MyMaps but the problem is the saved file format KMZ. I recently discovered an excellent conversion app called Geo File Converter - GPX ... by Toni Dominik Hoffmann. This little app is simply and works flawlessly. Basically all I do is save the KMZ file in the iCloud. Then on my iPhone open this file in Geo File Converter select GPX, then convert and finally Share and input directly into Scenic. If you want to check the route before conversion then just tap on the map in Geo Converter which will then open apple maps for a preview. The export name can also be changed by just tapping on the field to edit. A great little app and gets 5 stars.

Hi Peter,

That’s nice to know. Perhaps an unnecessary steps for Scenic though.

Did you know you can also paste Google MyMaps urls in the Scenic WebApp? Just make sure the route has public access.

cheers,

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

Thanks Guido I will try that but I think that's computer only option. The advantage of the Geo File Converter is it can all be done on your iPhone. Of cause the easiest option is to just plan using Scenic in the first place but sometimes I like to use a bigger screen. My MacBook is not IOS compatible.
