Planning and using different type of route settings
Quote from Houndog on 10.03.2024, 00:55I wonder if I can use different type of routing in the same course, for example I want to make a first leg in fast mode with highways the second leg with a lot of curves and the third leg with fast curves and save the entire trip
thank you

another thing that I noticed yesterday when I’m planning a trip in central Italy, is that when I’m near a lake, Bracciano, the planner isn’t working right, making routes around the lake in circle, thing that is not logical if you want to ride on a side of the lake and move on
Thank you Massi for your help!

Quote from Guido on 10.03.2024, 08:54@houndog. Indeed what @massi says is correct. At the moment it's not possible to have more than one routing mode in a route. This is a limitation of Scenic map provider (HERE Maps). As soon as they change this, I'll add it to Scenic too.
Regarding your route around lake Bracciano, could you perhaps send me a screenshot, so I can analyse further?

Quote from Guido on 10.03.2024, 15:33Hi @houndog,
sorry I should have asked this before, but could you also send me the share link to this route?
To get the share link, scroll down in the view of your screenshots (don’t drag up on the map, but drag up while your finger is above the map where you see time, distance etc). This will make a few buttons visible, amongst others the share button. When you tap that, a link is generated and copied to your clipboard. If you can paste that here, that would be great.
Thanks and regards,
Guido

The problem is your via point numbering.
A couple of things to know about via points and stops:
- Scenic calculates a route from your start point, to via point 1, to via point 2, to via point 3, etc
- A stop is also a via point with a via point number. See here for differences between via and stops: https://scenic.app/help/stops-vs-via-points-whats-the-difference/?seq_no=2
- The via point number is not necessarily the stop number. For example, if you first have two via points, followed by a stop, then the stop will be stop number 1, but it will have via point number 3 (that's the number you see in pink in the stop markers).
With this in mind, this is how you had your route:
Note the via point numbers (the numbers in pink). The way you had it, it's taking you from via 7 (=stop 7), to via 8, then to via 9, then back to via 10, and via 11(=stop 8), and then back again to via 12(=stop 9).
Here is the correct route. Note how the via points are increasing as you follow the route.
If you'd like to know how to change this, take a look at the tuturial video of the power planner: https://scenic.app/help/power-planner-tutorial/?seq_no=2
Perhaps the easiest way in this case is to open the route timeline, by tapping the button circled below, and then change the order of the vias/stops in the list:
