Planning a route issue

I am planning a route through Vermont for this summer. At one point the road turns left and the software (for no apparent reason) turns right onto a different highway travels nanshort period of time and then comes back and merges onto my highway at a different location. No stops or waypoints are on the detour.

I would have re-positioned stop 3 and 4 after haveing zoomed in a lot to see I placed the stops on the right side of the road etc.

I see this happening sometimes, and often the point before or after cause this.

If what Johan suggests does not help, try downloading the offline map for the region.

If that doesn’t help either, what I sometimes do, is isolate the issue. I start a new route and place a start flag and where the issue begins and end flag where the issue ends.

It might be an issue with the map data itself, though. If you want I can have a look. If so, could you share the link to this route with me? To create a share link, select the route from your route list, scroll down to below the map preview and you will find a share button.

I’m interested in this as it happens sometimes in Australia, I know I need to go in one direction but I get taken down a road and come back.

I think it’s certainly the Here maps error.

If I do that in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Open Street Maps it is correct.

In Open Street Maps I had to force it down the right turn with point.

In Scenic I had to put the start point almost right at the T junction.

In the case of @newcomm1 it was a map error indeed.
