Phantom Touches

I use scenic through Apple CarPlay on a Harley Davidson with a Soundstream head unit. On just the Scenic app, occasionally the screen would respond as if somebody touched it. Meaning the menu would suddenly appear, showing the end ride button. Sometimes the menu would then just disappear, or on several occasional the end button would trigger a touch and it would end my route in the middle of riding. I would say this happened about 7 or 8 times over the course of a two day ride.
I thought my head unit might be having problems but in the past few weeks I've used Apple Maps and Apple Music extensively with no issues whatsoever. So I'm not sure where the problem lies.

This is very weird. To be honest I don't think this can be a Scenic issue.
(1) I haven't received any other reports on this and
(2) It's impossible to bring up the top bar or the menu programmatically, in other words, it can only be brought up by touching the screen or using the CarPlay remote controller (assuming your HD has a remote control feature). If it would be your phone I'd say that it could also have been raindrops falling on the screen, but since this is a CarPlay system from HD, this can't be the reason either, unless that screen is sensitive to raindrops.
There is one occasion where an alert can pop up: when you reach the destination of the route. In that case Scenic will show a choice if you want to continue tracking the ride, or stop tracking the ride.

Yeah it's VERY odd and I totally believe you when you say it's not a Scenic thing. I know a tiny bit about IOS programming and I know you don't have control over the screen sensitivity or anything. But I just thought I'd share and see if you had any feedback.
At this point I'll just have to really watch the other apps I use and see if I can catch it registering touches, and if so, go back to the manufacturer.
Thanks for the reply!
