Offload recorded rides

Not really.
You can export the ride as a GPX file, but you can not import as recorded rides (yet). You can only import as route.
An additional disadvantage is that remove recorded rides from your Scenic account will also effect the statistics.
The storage is pretty efficient though. A ride of, let's say, 500 miles, should take up around 100kb.

I was worried seeing the 1.59gb storage space used by the app, but I stupidly forgot that would include the offline maps.
