Not Following a Planned Route

Vias should always be visible. What possibly could have happened is that Scenic assumed you were on another part of the route. Was this a round trip / was it using the same road twice (one going out and one coming back). If so, it's possible that when reaching that road, Scenic thought you were already on your way back. Check your detour behaviour settings as they also influence that. (Settings > Navigation & Tracking > Detour Behaviour).
