no more Premium Forever?

cannot find the way to buy it. was it discontinued and annual subscription is the only way to go?

will the app remain fully functional forever for existing Premium users? or at some point it will force them to migrate to subscription as well?

So for me I had premium forever and now it shows my subscription ending in April.
In the apple subscription panel it shows my subscription cancelled and will need to be renewed in April..

Hope this is error, I only bought lifetime forever in November 23!

If Scenic doesn’t show you are Premium Forever, this is an error. Please let me know your Scenic Nickname and I’ll check everything and correct.

Make sure your yearly subscription with Apple is set to expire (not auto-renew). Premium Forever and the yearly sub can co-esist if you ungraded through the webapp, but Forever should overrule the yearly sub. You’ll stay premium forever after the yearly sub expires.

With the update you’ll also stay premium forever. You won’t be charged anything.

My Scenic Profile displays “Scenic Premium” (not “Scenic Forever”. Is this an error?

I upgraded to Premium Forever on July 25th, 2023.

My Scenic Nickname is Uncle Bob.

You are "Forever" according to our database.

You should be able to see this by tapping profile picture in the side menu, and then expanding the "Account" section.

Just a note from a happy premium-forever-owner:
I really appreciate Scenic. But on principle I would never have become a customer with a subscription model. That would be a great shame (from today's perspective ;-).

I too am a happy premium forever customer. I also hate the subscription model however I totally get the reason for it. It takes a huge amount of time to develop and maintain an app. If we the customer want more features then who pays for the developer's time. I guess then that a developer could go one of three ways.

  1. Get revenue through subscription.
  2. Get revenue through advertising.
  3. Stop development of the app and use his/her time on another project.

There is after all a limited number of customers for an app like Scenic.

4. Premium forever and take a fee, when a new version comes.

And me too wouldn't become a scenic customer, if subscription model were the only possibility in the past.

I planned to buy a few credits - even if I didn't need them at all.

Is there/will there be a notification if Premium Forever is offered again?  Where will the notification appear?  If Premium Forever were to become available, I would kick MRA Nav App to the curb and step on its neck.

 

If (and that's a big IF) Premium Forever will be offered again, this will be communicated in the newsletter and on the Scenic social channels.

I'm premium Forever since November 2018. Unfortunately my mobile is not the last generation, therefore I cannot install the most up to date version. Last time I used Scenic was in my last trip to Norway in June / July 2024.

last week I intend to use it again in a short trip and unfortunately the only message I can see is "Scenic 4 Ein großes Scenic-Update ist verfügbar. Bitte jetzt akt...." then a yellow button to "Update". When click on "Update", it offers me the option to "open" the App on the App Store. When I click in "open", it simply go back to the same message described above (going in circles).

Basically what's happening is that I cannot open any version of the APP anymore.

Can you help me?

Very sorry about this, but I can't do anything to help you.

Scenic 4 works on iOS 16.4 and up (iPhone 8 and newer).
I can't keep Scenic 3 available because the contract with HERE maps ended.
