No Maps in v.2.4.2

I'm very new to Scenic - I've only installed the free version a couple of days ago and made one very short trip with it so far to try it out.

My main phone uses v. 3,61 and that's fine. It certainly beats the Sygic app. I've previously used, even considering my lack of familiarity with it.

I have another old iPhone 5S with wifi connection but no SIM card. I want to use that on my bicycle. I've downloaded the latest compatible version of Scenic on that phone - v.2.4.2

When playing with the app. at home, connected to wifi - There are no roads or any other details visible on the app. when centred on my home, just a blank screen with the rotary menu at the bottom. When I zoom out, I can see the complete country and surrounding countries with rivers, lakes, etc. but, at a zoom level that's useful - nothing.

I live in Thailand but the lack of useful detail is the same if I look at UK and all other places, I suppose.

Also, if I search for a destination in the 'Destination/Route' box and make a selection from the results, I get a message saying 'Meta Files Issue'.

Maybe the two issues are connected.

Any ideas on a solution? Maybe I need to download something else onto the old 5S phone? Google Maps is installed at present. Maybe something simple I'm missing?

Hi @martinrl,

Very sorry, but Scenic 2 does not work anymore. It is using maps from a provider that stopped its service. That's why you don't see a map and you get these error messages.

Hope this helps/explains. If not, please let me know if you have other questions. Happy to help.

Best regards and ride safe,
Guido

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

Thanks Guido.

I should have guessed v.2 would be obsolete!

There's some learning to do with v.3.61 but, as I said, it's FAR better than my previous navigation app. and, at the level I'll use it - day trips of maybe 200-300 km., alone - it appears, at the moment, quite simple to use.
