New Version restarts in the middle of creating a route

I am using Scenic version 3.59 on an M1 iPad Pro running iPadOS 17.4.1.

When creating a new route, I can choose the start and the end OK. When I try to search for a location (by name or address) about 75% of the time, the application restarts losing all the data on the new route I’m trying to create. The same behavior shows up when trying to edit stops on a previously saved route.

Sometimes, it quits as soon as I start the search, and sometimes it quits when I try to convert the location to a stop.

I have shutdown and restarted the iPad. I have removed the Scenic app and reinstalled — all with no change.

Please advise!

Thanks!

Same here. I think the search is bugged...

I noticed that removing the offline map fixes the issue for me. The crash seems to happen when I select a search result while the offline map provider has not finished searching yet.

When I wait until all searches are finished it does either not crash, or it crashes automatically when the offline search takes too long. (which may be an issue in itself - it never has been that slow or stuck).

If it’s crashing when searching, this is a known issue. The issue is with the map provider (HERE maps). Specifically when searching in offline maps. They have told me that it will be fixed within two weeks. As soon as they release the framework update with the fix, I’ll release a new Scenic version of course. Meanwhile, as a workaround, removing your offline maps will solve this issue Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️
