Nested folders please – I have many saved routes – Scenic App Forum: Browse 400+ Topics for Adventure Riders

I would like to see nested folders as an added feature. One of the features which I love about Scenic is the ability to create and save routes. I have about 200 routes saved, for trips I have taken and trips that I have planned for the future. I often create multiple routes for each trip, so I will have options to choose from.

With so many routes saved, the challenge becomes organizing and finding them. I have created 20 folders. It would be very helpful if I could have two levels of folder names (nested folders). That would avoid the need to scroll far across to access the folders at the end of the alphabet.

Yes. This is already on the feature request list. You are not the first one asking 🙂.

I too would like the ability to nest folders. I just moved to another state and will be riding with another group of Patriot Guard Riders. The locations I have organised need to go into a nested folder with the prior state’s name on it within the parent directory so I can maintain the structure I have developed; to be kept separate, but within a touch of the current ones.

I realise that this is on the ever expanding list of things to code, but really, Guido, in 6 days the whole world was created – Moses says.

Some request over time. It requires a structural change in the database model and migration of existing routes / rides / locations into that new structure. Quite some work, but more importantly, a high risk of introducing high impact bugs. On top of that lots of other things in the list that will give more added value to more people.

So… all in all… high risk change, relatively low added value, items with higher priority… . It’s going to be a long while before I can prioritize this.
