Multiple Search Entry Results from Different Sources

Hi Guido.

Something that I've been meaning to ask about and it's the search results that I get when I enter in a destination to ride to.

Have a look at the attached screen shot. I enter in "Tarra Bulga" (it's a local state park) and I get a number of results from different sources, including HERE, Apple and Google.

Why does it do this and does it matter which one I select?

Today I selected the first one in the list under the HERE maps section which is what I normally do.

What's the difference between HERE Offline and HERE Online? Is one from the downloaded maps on the iPhone and the other from an online source such as the HERE servers?

Just wondering what'd happen if I selected any of the other results.

Hi Martin,

maybe I can help. As far as I know both are the same, only what you have here is not only the "Terra Bulga State Park" down by Melbourne but also a road called "Terra Bulga Court" way up by Brisbane.

Why HERE Maps Online don't show the "Terra Bulga Court" road, that I don't know.

So, Scenic uses multiple search providers because sometimes one provider gives better results for a certain search term than others. It doesn't matter which one you choose. Here Offline is indeed searching the offline maps. It will still work even if you do not have a connection.

It's handy that Scenic does that multiple search.

Yesterday we did a loop of the local area for a photoshoot for the bike club of which I'm a member.

Scenic performed well.

Something Different

I haven't tried it - the bike's all snug and comfy in the shed for the coming weeks (it's winter here and weather forecast is crap) but when I do get it out I'll try the following if it can be done.
With the map screen displayed click on "start ride" and let it track and record the route. While it's doing that, can I at the first stop then enter in a destination and it will continue to record the ride from the start or will it start a second ride recording?

During tracking, move the map slightly to go to “edit/overview” mode. There you can add a stop/destination while staying in the ride recording.
