Moving Stops and Way Points

I’ve needed to edit a couple of route copies recently and struggled to move stop and way points.

The first 2 are easily selected to move but after that the app wants to add a point when you try and select a point to move.

It happens on my phone and ipad and I’ve even tried a stylus in case it’s my fat fingers!

The only way to resolve it seems to be to close the edit and reopen it for another 2 points which is a bit of a pain as it wasn’t like this in version 3.

I'll have a look.

I've discovered that If I put the target on the circle of the way point or stop I cant select it to alter.

Perhaps this is how it was designed to be used ?

I thought I fixed that. The crosshairs is supposed to pass through the touches. I'll have another look.

What version are you on Kevin? The latest is v4.03. You can see version number at startup or at the bottom of Settings. To update through the app store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1089668246

I've just reread my post and there is a typo which changes the entire meaning.  "I've discovered that If I put the target on the circle of the way point or stop I cant select it to alter."  The cant in this sentence should read can and I do seem to be able to use the target to capture Stop / Edit points.

I'm on Version 4.03.

Thanks as always for your prompt reply

So, are you saying that selecting a pin by tapping on it only works if that pin is close to the crosshair?

Version 3 - I would just tap on a via / stop and edit / move the point.

Version 4 - I can do this twice but then Scenic wants to add a new via / stop so I have to quit Scenic and start again.

Version 4 - I discovered that I can select more points by lining up the target with the circle on the via or stop "pins" without having to keep restarting.

I hope that makes sense.

For context, it was an old version 3 route that I had reversed and wanted to edit to visit Chatsworth House on the way back home to East Yorkshire from Ludlow.

Many thanks

Kevin

I can not reproduce this, or maybe I'm doing something differently then you. Here is a video of what I'm doing: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jBt9qT5dxFL_PVWI6iqTNKg6xqg0YtkA/view?usp=sharing

Important to note is that I'm just tapping (not long pressing) on a pin

Having fiddled about I think it's probably the way I'm tapping - so me rather than scenic.

Apologies

Kevin

No worries

I have finally sorted this with the help of your video.  If I put the cross hairs on the tip of the pin it works every time.
