Meticulously crafted route grows dead ends when navagating

What I typically do when crafting these kind of routes:
- Place start
- Place end
- Place midway point (more or less)
- And then start adding vias (or stops) about in the middle of each 2 waypoints. If that's not enough (it it's not taking the roads you want) add another, until it does take the roads you want.
- If it's consitently not taking the roads you want, try changing the routing mode (from short to fast, or from fast to short, depending on the result).
