Merge recorded routes / Aufgezeichnete Routen zusammenfügen
Quote from satmax on 18.04.2025, 03:30LWhen a route is active, many menu options are disabled. Numerous settings become unavailable, and it’s not possible to switch routes.
The simplest solution would be to have an option to merge multiple routes from the same day into a single route afterwards.
That way, I could end a route at any time and start a new one, while keeping all settings accessible.
deutsch:

Choosing a different route during navigation is already possible. In Scenic 4, this works differently now, because in Scenic 4 you have access to the complete functionality of the power planner during navigation:
- Move map slightly to go to overview/edit mode
- Tap “edit route” mode
- Now you can edit the route as you like, or select a new route (use the search button), or clear the entire route.Merging recorded rides is also on the list still.

Quote from MjK on 18.04.2025, 08:52Merging almost any number of recorded rides is really easy and can be done from the same device scenic runs on
the following steps just require roughly 8 clicks to export - combine, re-import the combined files and save it as a new route / track
- the description is very detailed so it may look far more complex as it is, but the intention is to provide a step by step process -
here is how:
- exporting all rides from scenic
- uploading all exported files to https://gotoes.org/strava/Combine_GPX_TCX_FIT_Files.php
- if from an iOS device you sill see a blue text to be tapped selecting the individual files
- on a desktop browser multiple files can be selected at the same time
- Upload those selected files
- merging the files
- files get processed automatically
- and result in a perfect overview where you can even trim all individual tracks
- finally download the merged file
- the downloaded file can be straight imported to scenic by sending it to the app
- importing it in scenic
- you can edit all waypoints to change them to a stop or by moving them change the route to include something new
- save it either as a new route or as a new track

Thanks, but I can‘t load or reload a existent route by this way? And I can‘t change my settings like Intervall of voice respond, zoom level at different speed, …
@mjk
thanks, I will try this next time, but it looks a little complex… 😉

Yes.. you can. Tap the search button bottom right. In the search panel, you have access to all your routes. You can expand the routes section in the search panel, or search for your routes.
can‘t change my settings like Intervall of voice respond, zoom level at different speed
That is correct for now, but will change. Making more settings available during Navigation is on the list.

Quote from MjK on 18.04.2025, 10:06Hi @satmax,
you can use existing routes as Guido mentioned - when you enter the edit mode simply use the search button left lower corner and type in the name of your route or just push the search window a bit up and you will see all your routes folders and the respective routes in it ..
and true navigation settings in general can not be changed using this.
personally I am not using scenic as I use Google Maps, while letting scenic suggest a routing I almost all the time include new stops for sightseeing or while normally excluding highways to intentionally include a specific segment ..
that said, I have not had the need to change those settings during a ride ..
and if I have other issues, for example overheating of the phone or other things, why I ended up having multiple recordings, I simply combine them afterwards..
I was seriously considering not writing the process up in every detail, as Ives’s afraid exactly about your reaction of getting the impression it’s complex - well it’s as I wrote exactly the opposite
8 clicks - and it’s all done automatically, the confirming clicks needed are rather to check if you have special setting requirements - but of just combining even up to 20 files it’s a straight forward click process .. try it out and let me know
personally I feel Guido should focus on more relevant enhancements in the app as to build something what’s available for free so easy and not everyone needs it - sorry for being so direct, Markus
