Map styles question...

The recent update's new default light style map appears to be dramatically different than the default style of a few versions ago.  When I created my own preferred light style map, I kept many of the default options (colors, etc) and made changes mostly to line thicknesses and text size - so my aging eyes could actually see these items on the phone screen at "handlebar distance" away.

I'd like to try to apply my preferred changes to the new default style... but I don't remember all the individual changes I've made over the months.  Is there a way of  displaying all of the customizable options in one list, so I can compare options between styles without having to swap styles and open many sub-screens for every single setting?  Sort of a master list of settings?

Alternatively... does anyone have any advice for how to approach this problem?

Some users created custom styles, based on the old style, that you can import. You can find them + instructions, here: https://scenic.app/forum/topic/scenic-4-custom-map-styles/#postid-12240

Thanks Guido!  I do know about importing others' styles... the question still applies, though - whether starting with the default style, or an imported user style, I need an easy way to see all of the changes I've made that pretty much any map style needs to work for me...

Thanks johansw... this is very helpful!  I can drop your list into a text document on my computer, and add all of my values to each entry.  Then compare them to any other map style and make the changes I need to be able to see the important information on my small phone screen...

I sure wish there was a way to access such a list for any style which includes all of the values, though... color codes, font sizes road widths, etc...

Sorry. That doesn’t exist at the moment.

Hi Guido,

I cannot find how to add a new post to the forum (using Mac Safari), so I am using the reply button instead. If you can move it to a new post that would be great.

There is a problem which my scenic app which is that I can hear the route recalculation sound, but not the Instruction sounds. I have the following turned on:

Under Sound & Voice Instruction menu / voice and sounds, Beep and Voice, Voice and Language: Arthur, English, UK Voice volume; Loudest, Voice Speed: 0.8, Pre voice delay: 0.0, Interrupt Podcast Audio book: Off, Voice Output; device default, Voice prompt mode: tried both on and off but made no difference. Sound effects; On. `Voice instruction frequency; everything on.

Voice Instruction on Google maps is working fine.

The second problem I have been having is the Nav visual instruction (for example turn left 150 metres) sometimes gets stuck even though the map is working as expected. So I notably lose my 'Sound instruction' but my 'visual instruction' too. Which a s a tour leader is highly embarrassing as I have to keep stopping the check my route.

Thank you in advance for your advice on how to fix these things.

Tia tart a new forum topic… go to the main forum page ( https://scenic.app/forum/ ). Select a category from the list and then choose “new topic”. Regarding sound: could you check here for trouble shooting steps: https://scenic.app/help/sound-voice-problems/

For the visual instructions freezing… that is weird. Do you perhaps have some more information on this? Is there any structure to this or is it random?

Not sure if it will be helpful for anyone, but I expanded on the map style "inventory" that #johansw made, with lines for every item for keeping track of all the settings.  It's in a basic text format to hopefully make it accessible to most...

Now let's see if I can attach it here...
