Map colors

The current options on map colors is crap. I can barely see the map when riding since it’s all in these muted earth tones. We need options for colors. Like standard or satellite. Simple maps are generally better and easier to read on the road.

Yes, Graham, it’s presently rubbish. The graphic elements controls Guido gave us early days was brilliant compared to all others. They are THE reason I signed up forever. He scheduled comparable graphic controls to return in ‘25. I’m expecting to begin using the app again soon. Meanwhile I’ve been using my ancient companions, Silva, and graphite on paper… 100% contrast - as opposed to the perfectly absurd 18% contrast of the present maps on the only roads I ride. Small twisties. LOL. Residential driveways show much higher contrast than the rural road I live on.

Hi Guido,

It is very nice to see how the app changes from version to version and impressive to see how many functions are (re)integrated each release.

A couple of versions ago I changed my map view in a way to highlight unpaved roads to create better routes for knobby tires. Unfortunately I chose a color too close to the purple of the defined route.

Currently I am a bitt puzzled because I struggle to find the menu where to adapt the colors of specific road types… Is there a way to get back to the default view. Or how/where to adapt it?

Hi Helge,

Next week, I'm releasing an update with the new Map Customizer. With the Map Customizer, you'll have full control over how your map looks and feels:
- Customize colors, road widths, and font sizes
- Choose which POIs to display, and when they appear
- Control what elements to show at what zoom level
- Etc.
