Is there a way to update POI groups?

Hello all,

I have about 6 POI groups, which have been created using GPX files from the internet. Every once in a while, I'd like to update these POI groups.

I'm doing this, by deleing the existing POI group (note down the name, icon, color), go to the POI website and download the GPX again, share the GPX with scenic, import and save as POI group, add name, color and icon again...

That's quite annoying to do, which is why I verrrry rarely update them.

Is there a better way to keep POI groups in sync with a GPX file on the internet?

Hallo,

das geht direkt über die App.

Du musst den Standort markieren und dann die DEC kopieren.

Dann gehst du in die POI Gruppe und benennst den Standort wie Du willst, setzt ein Komma und kopierst die DEC rein.

Fertig.
So kannst du auch die POI umbenennen.

Hi Stefan,

What @karlchen mentioned is a good way if there's only one or two places you want to add to the POI group. However, If you don't know exactly what changed / what new waypoints were added in the GPX, then this becomes difficult of course. If I understand correctly you want to "merge" the new GPX with the existing POI group. Delete POIs that are in the POI group, but no longer in the GPX, and add POIs that are new in the GPX but not in the POI group yet. Correct?

If so, this is not possible at the moment. I'll add it to the feature request list.

Hi Guido,

thanks for the reply. No, I don't want to merge it. Just replace the whole POI group content with the new one.

Example: I made a POI Group for: https://www.mintelonline.de/streckensperrungen/Streckensperrungen_Motorrad.gpx (I'm only taking the waypoints from this gpx)

I want to keep this POI Group in sync with this gpx file / url, because there is timed information in there. So entries are added and deleted.

Yes. I was trying to say that 🙂. Merging would have the same effect as deleting the old group and uploading the new one. In any case, the answer is still the same I'm afraid. It's not possible at the moment. I've added it to the feature request list.
