Import multiple tracks
Quote from Neo9686 on 21.11.2021, 14:04Hi Guido, I’m testing scenic 3 at the moment, it really is a gem (it already was with version 2 but with some minor issues, now I can’t find any). I was organising my routes and tracks and saw that you can create an overlay not only with locations and POIs, but with an entire tracks folder! At the moment, I create my routes outside Scenic editor not because it is not good (it really is, especially for a mobile in-app editor!), but because I need to match the new route to many previous small tracks I recorded and collected over the years (my best riding and panoramic sections). If scenic 3 does support so many tracks, and it seems to do so, I could do it entirely on the app without using another app on the laptop… I could even use this feature to alter my route while riding, knowing to choose alone of my selected tracks. I’ll create a couple of screenshots to explain what I’m trying to accomplish here, I’ll post them here shortly, but the main goal would be to upload multiple and small tracks at once, instead of importing them one by one (they are dozens, maybe more…).
thank you very much and keep going, scenic is the to-go navigation app for motorcyclist, and I’m sure it will improve even more.

Quote from Guido on 22.11.2021, 09:30OK... so you'd like a feature to batch import tracks as tracks (not convert them to turn-by-turn navigable routes), right? This is technically possible. The reason why it doesn't exist yet, is because most people import tracks and then make a navigable route from it, which always requires a little bit of manual checking and possibly editing / moving some via points. If you just want to use the 'save blue line as track' button for this batch import then this is possible. I will add it to the list. Can't make any promisses as to timing. The list is growing by the day 🙂

Quote from Neo9686 on 22.11.2021, 09:57Exactly, I’d like to see those tracks (usually 10/20 km each) while planning the route in the editor. This is actually possible but I’d need to manually import every single track, it would take hours and hours. Thank you very much Guido for the effort.
Little OT: last year (I believe) we discussed here about the possibility to view other route charts in Scenic 3, may I ask you if you have it in the list or if you decided to discard it? I suggested to implement rain/weather and temperature charts, but there are more: humidity, wind&gust, sunlight, etc… as I said in that occasion, something like what you could find in the inRoute app. Did you find the time to check it out? Again, thank you very much

Quote from Guido on 22.11.2021, 10:12This is still on the list, but I haven't had the time to look into it yet, as I was working on migrating to Scenic 3. Currently there are still some teething problems for Scenic 3 that Im working on... after that it's on to CarPlay... and after that I will finally have some more time for items on the list.
