illogical routing

Best you test it yourself.

48.928066, 9.371623

When I set the beginning and end, the route is perfect on the road.

If I set a via point, the route goes across the city on very narrow paths.

It doesn't matter if I take the "fast" or "balanced" profile.

This is a known problem. I’m bringing out a fix in the upcoming update.

When you solve this problem, will it be perhaps also be possible to set in settings "crossing towns prefer mainroads regardless distance"?

I will request this to the routing/map provider. The only routing modes and avoidances they offer at the moment are the ones that you see in Scenic now.
