How to resume a route?
Quote from Aging Bull on 15.07.2025, 01:19In another thread I have posted that somehow I activated orientation lock during navigation and the only way I could get back to default behaviour was to restart the app on my phone. This caused me to lose the route. I was only offered the option to "resume ride" but this just showed my previous progress but not my route or navigation. Since I was half way through my route, when I opened it up, of course it was trying to navigate me back to the start. The only way I could see of resuming my route was skipping 20 or so way points to get me to where I was... which by the side of the road in the heat, I didn't want to do. So, it was quit Scenic and open Google maps unfortunately.
Is there any way to resume a route if half-way through? A couple of functionalities that would be really useful would be:
- Since it has my ride information, it could intelligently see where I am on my route and activate the next waypoint.
- A simpler option would be, when clicking on a waypoint on the map, to have the option "skip all before" or "skip to here"

If you restart the route (start a completely new navigation session), then there is a way to make it automatically skip all waypoints before the point where you join the route again. Have a look here for this: https://scenic.app/help/start-a-route-in-the-middle/

Quote from Aging Bull on 15.07.2025, 08:18Thanks Guido. When I clicked resume ride, it came up with just the history of my ride but no route or navigation.
It’s only when I reopened the route as a new navigation session that it was routing me to the start point. I don’t recall the prompt offering to start navigation from current position… I must have missed or misunderstood it
Thanks for the tip about starting a route in the middle
