How do I add a Point of Interest (PoI) using Scenic on the Mac?

We were discussing speed cameras recently and how to be alerted to them. I suggested that I might start adding PoIs to Scenic as I discover them.

I know where two of them are located. Today I just tried to add them but I'm failing miserably.

I have a POI Group already set up and it has one POI in it. But I cannot figure out how to add more.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

du musst einfach nur einen Standort kopieren nach dem gleichen System den Standort benennen und die Koordinaten anpassen.

Sorry, I don't read German (assuming that it is German), but Google Translate helped.

Your screenshot is for a phone. I'm trying to do this on the Mac.

I can't save it.

Sorry, yes, it's German. The image is from an iPhone. But it should be the same, I don't have a Mac.

You just need to make sure that everything is the same, such as the comma (,).

Here is an example of my POI passes.

F - Col de l'Iseran, 45.417210, 7.030670

I - Passo dello Stelvio, Stilfster Joch, 46.528630, 10.453080

Just copy the last entry and rename it as you wish.

Scenic will show you the coordinates.

I hope you understand it better now.

Your English is much better than my German. In any case, I cannot get Scenic to do anything on the Mac with regards to POIs.

On the iPhone it will only work if I have a route active and I long press on a point where I want to save a POI. I can enter a description, but I cannot save it. There is no option for me to do so.

See attached image.

If I don't edit the description then I can save the location. However, it doesn't appear on the map afterwards. When editing it the keyboard hides the save button. This I just discovered now. The second image shows where I want to add a POI showing a fixed speed camera. But it's not working for whatever reason.

Hopefully Guido can help us out with this.

I just realised. These are "Locations", not points of interest, so they don't show up on the map.

I have to figure out how to add a POI. I did one in February this year and it shows up on the map.

To show/hide location/poi groups on the map, tap the “layers” button (2nd button top left) and then scroll down and expand sections.

Update: I had to go out so before I went, using Scenic on the Mac I added a POI along the route. However, in CarPlay it wasn't shown.

When I got home I checked the app. Whilst I checked those options for displaying POIs on the Mac version the changes didn't sync with the iOS version. I updated the app and then they appeared on the car's navigator screen in Carplay mode.

Yesterday I had to drive down to the Big Smoke. I'd already inserted "locations" or "POIs" into the map using a red marker with a $ sign. Apart from me having to adjust their locations as they were out by a few hundred metres, it seems to work OK.

But there is no pop-ups or anything. I wonder if that could be a feature request?

You mean an alert when you get close to them? (proximity alert). If so, that's already on the list.
