Highlight the route section where "avoid unpaved roads" cannot be honoured

Hi Guido,

As ever, I love Scenic in so many ways, but on a recent trip (in Portugal if its relevant) several times when planning a route (balanced option) with "avoid unpaved roads" selected, several times at the end of calculating a route I would get a message saying "avoid unpaved roads cannot be honoured", but it gives no indication where on the route this is.

Sometimes it was apparently just the last 20 meters to a campsite reception which is fine, other times it was literally an almost vertical "goat track" linking 2 hairpins 200m apart down the side of a mountain (Scenic apparently knew the actual road was closed due to a landslide & thought this alternative was ok, it wasn't & led to 30 miles of back tracking to find a viable alternative, which happened twice in different sections in different parts of the country).

I already have a custom map style which highlights unpaved roads in red, but even 200m is hard to spot on a 200 mile route, it would be really helpful if when giving the "avoid unpaved roads cannot be honoured" warning there was an option to move the map to highlight where the unpaved section is so I can make an informed decision before starting the ride.

Thanks KB

I know exactly what you mean. At the moment the route line covers narrow roads, so you can’t see where the off-road  stretched are ‘behind’ te route line

For the big update that I’m working on at the moment, I’m looking into options to solve this. One option could be to give off-road sections a different route color or different line style. This is probably the most easy and could also be useful for people actually wanting those off-road stretches

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️
