Hide start and end when publishing routes

Hi Scenic team,

very good job! Congratulations. I use Scenic since March this season and meanwhile made several thousand kilometers and it worked fine. Thank you for that.

One idea / feature request:
would it be possible to hide start and end (or some locations) in a radius of a few hundred meters when publishing a route?
Background: most of my routes start and end at my home. If I'd publish them, everyone will know where my motorcycle is. This stops me at the moment from publishing routes.
As an example: if you know Strava (the app for sports tracking) as an example: there it is possible in privacy settings to hide the starting and end point of a route in a range from off up to 1600m. It is also possible to hide dedicated locations.
This is in my opinion a good compromise between publishing routes and keeping home (motorcacle garage) secret.

Regards,

Michael

Hi Michael,

I understand what you mean. And it has been on the deities request list for a long time.

Meanwhile, might I suggest an alternate solution:

Plan your routes with a public place around your house (like a gas station, or restaurant, or typical meeting point) as a start point.

When you select a route for navigation, it will include navigation from your current location (your home), to that route start point.

This has an advantage for other as well in the sense that those routes will be more usable for them.

Having said that, I do see your point for sharing recorded rides, where your start point is always your home. To build something like this is still on the feature request list.

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

Hi Michael.

like Guido mentioned.

I select our local gasstation or a coffeeshop nearby to meet with my buddies.

End of the route is on the main road of my hometown.

Your public routes wont show your adress.

Your recorded rides will calculate the whole track, even when your starting point is miles away. Give it a try.

Thanks for the suggested alternatives. Will try the most convenient one for me.

I must remind me then to start recording only once I reached the starting point and not from home. But that should not be a problem.
