Help function in app

It's a shame that when they open a Route there are various tap-able icons that mean nothing to them. What on earth does an X in a circle in a square black box mean or do? What does a target with two diagonally opposed big dots and some smaller dots actually do? Because when they press it at this stage nothing seems to happen. Same goes for the arrow icon below it.
It would help so much if a light touch on them brought up an explanation.
Why when they press the Ride icon bottom (left on the screen) why does it take them to Tracking. Which they then find they can't get out of.
Why when they have opened a route, pressed the Ride button at the top right of the screen, then pressed 'Ride' again at the bottom of left of the screen, (really) and they then naturally click on the middle bottom of the screen, where it says 'go to route', does it take them to a screen with 'Statistics'.
Why is the stop ride icon a red circle with a red dot in the middle, when the universally recognised shape for stop in so many countries is a red Octagon?
I could say more but I think I have conveyed the frustration, they feel.
My account says I have achieved the Scenic status of Explorer Extroadinaire, so I think I am at least a little bit qualified to share the feedback above.
Constructively, I would like to suggest that the biggest future improvement to the app would be to redesign the IA and UX in the app, making it totally obvious how to use it and what the different functions are and how to access them.
Happy to share more directly with you Guido if it would help. I'm a fan, but none of my fellow riders are, which is a real shame.
