Fuel stop, rest area's and preferred roads
Quote from converted on 16.03.2024, 04:45I’m not quite sure if this function has already been implemented. At least I couldn’t find it. Wouldn’t it be possible to incorporate a function were you can get proposed fuel stations and rest areas along your route according to your settings (distance/time).
Additional to that it would be great to archive selected rounds that can be easily incorporated/added to new routs.

Quote from Guido on 16.03.2024, 05:44Scenic 3.55 (released yesterday: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1089668246 ) now searches POIs along your route while navigating. So, if you go to edit/overview mode during navigation (move map or tap overview button) then tap the search button and you search for POIs, it will search along the route.
Or did you have something else in mind?
Regarding your 2nd point: do you mean you would like to be able to combine two or more routes into a new one? (Where one route could be a small reusable short route/loop)? If so, that’s on the feature request list.

I’m not happy relying to me mobile, for that reason I’m still using my GPS. I’m more looking towards a functionality during the planning phase. For that reason checking while routing is not an option. Would be great to have that incorporated according to the fuel consumption of the individual bike and according to the individual “in saddle time” when it comes to rest areas.
regarding the second topic, that would be the case. Combine 2 or more routes into one new one.

I have the same request and wanted to describe it a bit better.
I think the best way would be to place that add POI function (for gas station/restaurants etc) either
1.) in the route timeline
There you have the overview of how many km you were already on the route.
So instead of just showing the Way/via-point, have a button to each way/via-point that says add POI
You then come to a window to select which POI you want: I would put gas station and restaurant as default.
Then we can make a search for the POIs - you show them in the map around the selected way/via-point, say some 5-10km radius, adjustable in a input box nearby - the next gas station is sometimes further away than you hope for.
Then after selection this POI is included in the route.or 2.) when you select a way/via-point in the planning screen - put the information of the already driven km as additional info under the current delete, modify convert buttons that are already there. Just put the same info there as in the route timeline, just only for the selected way/via-point. Also put this add POI button here, and then the same procedure as above.
That way we would a have a nice feature to add a coffee stop or fuel stop. An added functionality could be to set a typical range somewhere in the settings and Scenic would automatically suggest where to put a fuel stop along the route while planning it. But this could be more difficult, I guess 😉
Or you could just color the first way/via-point red where the range is higher than the re-fueling range, that we have put in the settings or even somewhere in the route planner. Then we know where we have to start looking for fuel.Ride on

I hope you don’t mind me piling onto this request.
One further thing that would be amazing. Is trip planning. I would love to be able to say, plan for this route to start at 9 AM. Anytime I have a stop allow me to add a delay time at the stop.

The idea of being that, I could plan an entire days route, include gas and lunch stops, and get an accurate idea as to when we need to stop for gas and when we need to stop for breaks.
Basically, steal the Garmin functionality. For bonus points, take a look at the way Basecamp actually records this with Garmin extensions in the GPX that it exports.

Happy to send you screenshots and GPX files if that would help.

If it's not useful, please feel free to ignore it. I suspect you don't need it, but it's there if you ever do want a peek.
