EXTREMELY FREQUENT MAP UPDATES
Quote from Gonzalex on 12.09.2023, 05:22Hi Guido,
Is it just me or perhaps, is it expected, very frequently I get this popup saying that maps need to be updated. I'm thinking ... how often can the maps get updated in a day??
sometimes it really does happen several times in a day or everyday across multiple uses ...Can the notification be turned off?
I just doubt the maps are being udpted all that frequently.
And before you ask, yes, it is for the same map; it's not like i'm getting a notification for each map that I have.

Quote from Guido on 12.09.2023, 07:08Typically the maps are updated about once a month. So a few times per day definitely not.
On startup Scenic checks if a map update is available and if it is, you will get an alert. This happens only on app launch.
Are you actually executing the map update by following the instructions in the alert? After you update the map you shouldn’t get the alert for a while, until the next map update is available.
If, even after updating the map, you still keep getting this alert, probably one or more of your offline maps got currupted. I recommend logging out and logging back in again in that case. By logging out and logging back in you remove all offline maps. After you logged back in, first execute the map update and then re-download your offline maps.
Let me know if you run into any further problems.
Cheers, Guido
