Exporting POIs

Quote from Guido on 13.04.2022, 11:42It's not possible yet, and I don't have it on the list (yet?).
Why not on the list:
- POI's are typically imported from a GPX file and/or copy pasted from another source.
- It would make sense for POIs that are manually entered, but this is quite rare as far as I know as.
- It will make more sense as soon as I add the feature to mark locations while riding (through sort of 'thumbs-up' 'thumbs-down' button) on the map and add them to a POI group. But that feature still will take a while too.

Quote from thebritnickd on 01.03.2023, 23:38I have a couple of scenarios that would make this useful:
- I'd like to be able to export the route because I would like to use the data in some other apps.
- I have an OBD2 app that I would like to tag engine performance in given way points.
- After a ride I'd like to use street view in Apple Maps to be able to show/discuss a location with other riders on the trip
- I would also like to be able to name way points.... I've noticed that when looking at out peoples routes there is a start and a stop, but when looking at their route I'd love to be able to look at the start and stop locations in other apps prior to a run where I can get street view so I can recognize the location. This will also help me get my bearing when particular way points are referred to as a name, "the clock tower", the Chevron garage, etc...

Quote from Guido on 02.03.2023, 12:32Hi @thebritnickd,
Scenic has the ability to export routes as a GPX, including stop names. To do that, select the route from your route list and tap the 'export GPX' button (at the bottom). Alternatively you can tap the 'share' button. This will create a share link which you can send through other people (or yourself). Upon clicking that link a webpage opens where you can see the route on a map and some other details about the route. You can also download the GPX of that route through that web-page.
The subject of this topic was Exporting POIs, but I assumed your were talking about exporting routes. If I misunderstood somehow, please let me know.
Cheers,
Guido
