Export GPX generates two routes

When I click on “Export GPX” while viewing a route, a second route is generated connecting just two points on the main route. Examining the GPX file, the name of the additional route contains the text “(Vias as path - Garmin Extension)”.

Is this a known issue?

This is 'as designed'. When your route only has a start and a destination, the two routes in the GPX file will look the same. However, when you add stops and/or via points, the two routes will have a different structure in the GPX file. This is because some systems / software can handle one route better than the other.

No worries. I should have clarified that my typical use case involves creating routes by hand using multiple stops and/or vias.
