Dynamic Switching from 3D to 2D view?
Quote from masupert on 26.05.2025, 18:58I've observed that Apple Maps appears to dynamically switch between 3D and 2D map view when using guided directions. It appears that it generally stays in an angled 3D view at high speed or on highways, but will switch to an overhead 2D view when approaching a turn or when traveling at slower speeds, such as in a city. Is that something that could be explored?
I find that the 3D view in Scenic often gives me a confusing perspective when approaching a turn. A turn could be a few hundred feet in front of meet, but in the 3D view, is at the edge of the screen making it seem like it could be much further away than it actually is. I've missed multiple turns as a result in 3D view.
