Dual Recording Tracks/routes

Hi, I know it's possible to record a route and continue with another route, like they are merged. But when touring you use the app also for improvised destinations during the day. What do you think about the idea to record a tour/day manually with start/finish, perhaps with a pauze button, as an addition to the current setup. I will log the data twice then. And this recording is then very straight forward. It's a bit like having scenic with the routes, and use another scenic app for recording the complete day/tour.

Im not sure I understand. What would the second (manual ) recording record exactly?

I would like to record and see my activity on my bike that should stop only when I press pauze or finish. And at the same time using scenic for routes, new destinations, making changes etc.

So it could record rides from start to finish in one picture, which could be multiple days.

Basically my aim is to merge 2 or more "recorded rides".

I've read on this forum that it's not possible in an easy way, which I thought this idea could be an alternative, a separate recording to the current format.

Ah... I understand. However a second recording is not the best solution for this problem. If you want to see a map with all your rides, then this will be added in the future.

Hi.

This may be a workaround for you.

Record your rides to a specific folder. E.g. „Route 66“ After you finished your tour all your rides are in this folder.

Select the third button on top left of scenic map, overlay. It will ask u which folder u like to see on your map. Select „Route 66“ and it shows up like this:

In 2021, new to scenic, i forgot to end one ride, and to close senic. So it recorded 14 days till i did my next ride. Increddible low average speed for 2021.

This means: you may use a second iphone / ipad which just tracks the tour, while you use your main cellphone for daily rides.

May give it a try.

@Mex, that’s a great tip. How easy is that 🙂 Just use another phone to record it all in scenic!
