Drifting position indicator
Quote from Rainbow57uk on 24.02.2025, 03:27Hello Guido,
I’m seeing an issue in the Scenic app that I am not seeing in other navigation apps. I have attached two videos to demonstrate the problem. The videos were taken one after the other using Apple Maps navigation and Scenic. Both apps were navigating along the same road and were utilising Apple CarPlay via an iPhone 11. The phone was in the exact same position with the switch between apps done via CarPlay. On the Apple Maps video, the position indicator is locked on the road and shows no deviation. With Scenic the position is shown way off the road, eventually drifting back onto the road. Just prior to this, the position indicator had been oscillating back and forth across the road. It would appear the Apple Maps navigation software is doing some calculation to snap the position to the road being navigated.

This happens with me quite often. Why Scenic don't think that I am not riding on the route, though I use the default riding mode most of the time.

I’m in a car so the gps signal may be weak but that should be the case for Apple car play. This occurred around two weeks ago so v4.10 or 4.11 would be active.
