Display Mode on Starting a Recorded Ride

When I start recording a ride without any navigation, I’ve noted that, even though I have my display options set to ‘Heading Up’ and ‘3D’ (as evidenced by the available options of ‘North Up’ and ‘Switch to 2D’ as seen in the attached pic), the map remains stationary and my location icon leaves the screen as I ride.

Is there a way to start a recorded ride without navigation and have the display default to the 3D view so that I can see what is coming ahead?

Thanks!

Actually, I believe I’m experiencing the same issue even when starting navigation a route.  The only way I’ve discovered to force it into 3D mode is to open the options screen, select Overview and then select the down arrow in the bottom right corner.  Taking these steps forces the view to go to 3D.  I can’t find any other way to get to 3D mode.  I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Scenic on my iPhone without any luck.

I’m fairly confident that Scenic used to default to 3D for me all the time.

Unfortunately this is s a bug in v3.10. A new version with a fix  is currently awaiting Apple approval. With a bit of luck they approve tomorrow, but could also be after the weekend. Sorry

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

Thanks Guido!  Glad to know I’m not losing my mind!
