Display Average Speed on Map Overlay
Quote from Marts on 11.08.2025, 19:08We're seeing more and more point-to-point cameras here in Australia. For those who aren't familiar with them they measure your speed between points then issue fines if you exceed an average speed which indicates speeding.
I'd like to see average speed displayed along side the live speedo so we can monitor this when freeway driving. And to have the ability to switch it on and off for when it's not needed (we don't see them on popular motorbike roads).
Thanks

What prompted me to ask this is a thread on the Kia Sorento board here in Oz. the latest Sorentos now have the ability to display average speed live on their infotainment maps. I think that it's triggered when it passes a known point-to-point camera location.
I had never really thought about this as they've never been a thing around here. But now, like an infectious disease, they're popping up everywhere on the freeways, you know, the multi-lane divided carriageways with crash barriers that should allow us to safely do at least 130 km/h but we're limited to 100 or 110 and on some parts, as low as 80 km/h. And if you exceed the limits the fines and points loss are heavy and in extreme cases they take your vehicle off of you.

In the UK we have speed limits that change between cameras, and on the motorways we have variable speed limits that change, something Gudio won’t be able to code for.https://nationalhighways.co.uk/road-safety/variable-speed-limits/

As do we. We also have "roadwork speed limits", temporary limits that workers put in place, usually 40 km/h. I don't know if the cameras factor these in or not.
But, knowing this, all we could expect is a running average, I guess and what I'd like to see.
