Display and language in Carplay
Quote from Deleted user on 30.07.2022, 12:01Hello,
i use Scenic with the Eyeride HeadUp Display via Carplay with iPhone 12 and IOS 15.5 Is it possible to hide the display (next turn in the upper left corner) or show it just before the next turn? This turn notification obscures the entire map for me. Another question, I have set the map language to german, but the announcements via carplay are in english. What can be the reason? Danke und Gruß Jürgen

Is it possible to hide the display (next turn in the upper left corner) or show it just before the next turn?I don't have any experience with the EyeRider. Does is show the CarPlay interface? Or does it show the normal iPhone Scenic interface? I don't know if it's possible, but can you make a screenshot of how this looks like, so I can get an idea? In both cases it would be a bigger change. Not impossible of course but it will take some time.
Regarding the language.... you also have to change the sound language in Settings > Sound & Haptics > Language & Voice.
Best regards,
Guido

yes, it show the carplay interface.
It's very hard to take a picture of the view in the prism, it looks like this:
I would like to see more of the track (especially the corners). Grüße Jürgen

I can't change the width of the panels as that is completely decided by CarPlay. The height of the top-left panel auto-resizes based on the text and upcoming instruction. What I could do is suppress this instruction completely.
This however would be a specific setting for users with such a narrow CarPlay display... and you would loose the visual turn information obviously. I'll add this to the list, but I have to be honest... since this is such a specific request (I don't know of any other CarPlay displays that are so narrow), for such a limited number of users, it will not be a priority item.
To be perfectly honest... I think this is a design issue on EyeRider side. They should make the display wider and/or offer an option to hide this panel. Any solution I would offer through Scenic, would only be for Scenic. All other navigation apps would still have this panel.
