Deciding long multi day route into daily sections
Quote from BeameronaBeemer on 09.03.2022, 18:28Again hello all,
Can you tell I’ve been planning rides for the upcoming season?
While working on a route from North Carolina to TX (to visit my Son, his wife and grandkid) I’m finding out Scenic is recommending me to break it down into different routes, which I agree.
My question is could we have an option where we tell Scenic “I would like to ride xx miles a day” please break this trip into daily rides where I can then take that route and look at lodging locations and adjust from there.
I’ll stop trying to plan trips for the night.
Again, Thanks to Guido for all your work.
John

Yes, this would be possible. I will add that to the list. Will be a while before I get around to this though. Meanwhile, as a workaround, what you could do, is drop some via points or stops where you think your night stop would be... and then, in the route timeline, you can verify the distance and duration it would take you to get to that stop. If the distance/duration it too short or long, move the via point/stop and try again. Not ideal, but perhaps it's a good workaround for the moment.
In case you didn't know about the route timeline... tap the 'arrow up' button in the power planner and it will appear:
Cheers,
Guido

Thanks for that suggestion. That is a great workaround while working out long trips. I didn’t know that was available.
