Day/Night mode to be set by iOS on CarPlay not head unit

First...LOVE SCENIC. Been my go-to for quite a while now and its an awesome bit of code. I recently bought a cheap-ish Motorcycle CarPlay unit (Ricoel C5). The unit itself, as many have found out has some limitations. There is an icon on the home screen that sets day and night mode.  Its a simple toggle that always resets back to Night. I have reached out to the manufacturer, but I have also noticed that other navigation apps obey the CarPlay setting from iOS rather than the base unit. Not sure if this is a difficult change or not, but would be a good 'quality of life' upgrade.

Thank you in advance.

*EDIT - As I monkey around more, I see that CarPlay offers 'Automatic' and 'Always Dark' (and always show dark maps). For comparison, I loaded MRA to see how it behaved and it has a toggle for Light/Dark mode in their app code under settings, so it doesn't actually care what the head unit says. I guess for Scenic, having the CarPlay device manufacturer fix the light/dark toggle is probably best. I reached out to Ricoel...we will see if they reply positively. The first answer was 'change it by hitting the icon' but it resets after a power cycle.

Guido...just ignore this please. I flashed a new firmware and fiddle with the settings. I got it to behave the way i prefer.
