Dark and Light mode doesn't switch automatically with CarPlay device?
Quote from 2BTSquared on 23.04.2023, 19:43I was out testing the Binize unit (wireless CarpLay/Android Auto display device). I was well into the ride and decided to select Scenic to see how things were working with it. It was mid afternoon and sunny. Noted that Scenic displayed in Dark mode when it opened in CarPlay. I thought this was odd. Didn't appear that I could change it. So, next opportunity I got I pulled over to look into it closer. I noted that I was able to get it out of Dark mode by turning off the Binize unit and opening Scenic. I had to actually load a route and start navigation. Once the navigation started it switched to Light mode. Is this expected?
Also... as an aside... Is it possible to show speed limit information without actually navigating a route (just viewing the map and position)?

When it's not connected to CarPlay it will use the iPhone dark/light mode setting. But, indeed, there are some issues with this sometimes. I'll have a look at it for the big update I'm working on.
As for your second question... the speed indicator only shows when you are in navigation mode. You can also go to navigation mode when don't want to navigate. In that case just choose "Start Ride" from the toolbar on the CarPlay screen top right.
