Custom maps in Android Scenic
Quote from Atticuscat on 29.12.2025, 11:29Is it possible to use custom maps in the currently available Android Scenic? An Android using friend attempted to try Scenic but the standard map was, quite frankly, terrible. It puts more emphasis on steams and rivers than roads. It was almost impossible to pick out roads, even major ones, from the background clutter. I sent him the codes for the custom maps I use but we couldn’t find map styles in the Android version. This is a major turn off for him taking up Scenic.

It was the free ‘til end of March which prompted him to try, but without being able to change from the awful standard map he won’t return to try again. Could well be the same for many others. I certainly would’ve moved on if Scenic looked like the current Android version when I tried out a few nav apps a couple of years ago.
