Custom Map Colors in 4.0
Quote from WhatsMyName on 12.10.2024, 16:25Hello. 4.0 looks great, especially the new Offline Maps interface. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to access custom map colors with the level of control I had previously. I would expect them to be under Appearance and Colors. They were important to me because the default color schemes (Light/Dark) are hard to see in daylight with glare.
To get a sense of the use case: In earlier versions, I used a dark background (to reduce phone overheating from the OLED) with all roads being bright white regardless of how major/minor they were. All that matters is how clearly I can see upcoming bends/turns in a quick glance, with maximum contrast to offset glare. Parks, etc don't matter. I typically participate in group rides following someone else, without a route loaded, so I'm using the app outside of Navigation mode.
Would it be possible to expose an advanced map color menu? If developer time is an issue, it would be fine to input HTML color codes or import/export a CSS/JS style sheet as a file.
Thanks for your time.

Quote from Ianjeffery on 03.12.2024, 10:46Totally agree. Would love to be able to customize the road colours like we could with the previous version and also it would be good to be able to force the map into "night mode" so the smaller roads are more visible in bright light against the lighter background.

Hi Guido,
thank you very much for the app, great, but I really need to customise every type of road as it has been in the past, it was one of the reasons why I have assigned to and looking for, when does this come back?
I see in 4.18 colours options but not road type related.
Cheers
