Change Routing options mid-route
Quote from HOOK on 11.06.2024, 05:52If I plan a route as Curvy but I want to change it to Fastest while I'm riding - is there an option to do that? If there is, I can't find it. Thanks.

Hello Guido,
I tried that today and it works on my Iphone but the option does not appear on carplay. Any recommendation how to find that or is there a reason why this is not available with carplay. I know I had that the other day with limited option on carplay for just the shortest or fastest routing but not curvy, but today it did no show up at all.
regards
Thomas

Quote from Guido on 05.09.2024, 15:12Hi Thomas,
CarPlay is quite limited. Only certain elements on the screen can be linked to touch gestures. An important limitation for navigation apps is that CarPlay doesn't tell the app where the screen was tapped. Only if a certain button was tapped.
If you are navigating a route, the routing mode button should show up in the navigation menu (reachable throug the "three dots" button). Alternatively, you could disconnect from CarPlay momentarily... then the iPhone will take over navigation... make your changes... and then reconnect to CarPlay.
Hope this helps.

Quote from Guido on 06.09.2024, 05:25You can’t disable CarPlay, but you can disconnect from it. If it’s a cabled connection it’s easy… simply disconnect the cable momentarily. If it’s wireless CarPlay, you can either disable Bluetooth or WiFi on your phone, or cut the power to your CarPlay unit (might mean turning off your vehicle).
