CARPLAY START NAVIGATION FOR SAVED LOCATION AND SEARCH

Hello Guido,

The Scenic 4 CarPlay version is still not fully functional compared to the previous 3.5 release. Specifically, the option to search for or navigate to saved locations while recording a ride is still missing.

I am looking for a way to start navigation to a Saved Location or Favorite place during an active ride recording. Currently, if I start recording and then decide to navigate to a saved destination, I have to stop the recording first, access the search function, select the location, and then start navigation which is very inconvenient.

This feature was available in Scenic 3.5 but it is badly missing in Scenic 4 CarPlay.

I’m aware. It’s on the list.

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

Hi Gudio,

When will this feature be added to CarPlay v4? We have been waiting for months without any updates.

This is a critical CarPlay feature to search and select saved destinations on the go, without having to stop in the middle of a road and switch it manually on the iPhone. It is highly inconvenient so please consider it on a high priority to add this feature for the next update.

If I can add.

In a perfect world Scenic would be recording a track (with relevant data - speed, elevation etc in the GPX points) always. Anytime I’m moving Scenic would be recording and completely separate from navigation, routing, search, etc. and is visible on the map.

In other words, like a Garmin Montana with options for the frequency/resolution of the tracks and auto saving options for them.

This is the only issue I’ve encountered after having holes in my “recordings” for later use while on a trip because I needed to stop recording, didn’t save correctly or start recording again after entering a new destination.  On an otherwise far superior platform for on and off tarmac exploration this is at the top of requests for means well.

Either way keep up the great work!
