Carplay pan via touch & drag not working

Using 4.17 via carplay and I'm trying to pan the map by a touch and drag to move the map around but it is not working as expected - both while navigating and not navigating.

This same touch+drag to pan process works well for me when using Apple maps, google maps, Rever, RoadTrippers carplay apps. But with Scenic it does not pan but does seem to shift a tiny bit like it wants to pan but doesn't. If you bring up the directional arrow control, then that method will allow it to pan by touching the arrow controls but is not as convenient.

Is this a known issue or is this expected behavior?

Yes. I had another report on this. I need to investigate this. Previously, panning the map with touch while not in panning mode (directional arrow), was not possible for non Apple apps, but I indeed see that 3rd party apps like Waze were able to implement it, so something has been added in the CarPlay capabilities for 3rd party apps. I've added it to the list.

Yeah would be great. Had some roadwork on my trip this weekend and couldn’t effectively see what alternative route to go as I couldn’t pinch the map.

You can always go to panning mode: (tap map to make toolbar visible and then tap the “4 arrows” button to go to panning mode.
