Carplay Issues on 4.18

Hi,

I had a four day trip to Vosges in France over the weekend and there were some annoying glitches with Scenic and Carplay(?), that made it not easy to navigate in a group.

First, Scenic crashed several times with this screen, I cannot say what the reasons for those crashes were:

Problem with this, when you're riding in a group, you can't stop to get your smartfon, to solve the problem and the track will not be recorded anymore.

Second, when a track or a routing was automatically paused, I can't get out of Scenic on Carplay, it jumps always back to the Scenic screen.

Third, (perhaps this is not a problem with Scenic/Carplay but with the routing algorithm of kurviger), a route planned with "curvy", were leading me several times to roads that are prohibited for vehicles. Often this was only a shorter way through the fields and came, after some kilometers, back to the main road.

Ich kenne das Fenster nur dann, wenn ich nach einer Pause weiterfahre, ohne am iPhone die Pause zu beenden.

ich glaube wenn man immer zuerst am iPhone die pause beendet kommt der Hinweis nicht

Das kann aber m.E. nicht im Sinne des Erfinders sein.

Da bin ich mir nicht so sicher.

Ich meine das vorher oft die Tour weg war und neu gestartet werden musste. Jetzt hat man die Möglichkeit, das iPhone einzuschalten und die Tour weiter zu fahren. Das ist mir so lieber.

Aber vielleicht liege ich auch falsch.

es ist nur mein Gefühl dazu.

Ich meine damit, daß man die Tour am iPhone wieder starten soll und nicht am Carplaygerät, ist nicht sinnvoll. Es wäre sinnvoller das Problem zu finden, warum Scenic überhaupt in der Situation abstürzt.

Das ist grundsätzlich richtig. Aber vielleicht geht das nicht, weil ja Apple vieles nicht zulässt auf CarPlay.

Mich stört das nicht wirklich, weil wenn ich weiter fahre, habe ich ja eh das iPhone in der Hand, also eben die Pause beenden und es läuft.

Du vielleicht, ich nicht, deshalb habe ich ja das Carplay Dingens. Außerdem bin ich vergesslich.:-/

Naja, ich glaube kaum, daß der Absturz an Apples Carplayrestriktionen liegt.

Perhaps Guido can say something about it.

I'm looking into the crashes. Hope to resolve it for the upcoming version.
