Carplay issue in 4.09 (since 4.06)

maybe I do make a mistake, but I am currently using scenic almost every day due to a Camper tour through Spain. I do habe an issue with the navigation in two perspectives.

 

1. using a stored route, but get off the route for a break, shopping or filling gas, every second or third time, scenic carplay shows still the route in pink, but no informations when the next turn is. (see screenshot). The only option ist to stop the route, search for it again and activate.

Very often in France because when passing a toll-station all wifi functions and therfore carplay is off. Every second time passing a toll station, scenic does not have any routing informations.

 

2. same (no information about next turn) happens when starting the route in my phone then staring my carplay display. I get the pink line but no informations about when the next turn to left or right or whatever is.

Is that a bug or am I using scenic wrong?

In the end I have up to 10 tracks after one day and need to connect the tracks in a different software and would really appreciate if there would be an option to connect all tracks of one day (24hrs)….at least optional.

Hi Thomas,

You are not doing anything wrong. I've had more reports and experienced it myself too. I've not been programming over the holidays, but starting Monday, fixing this is my highest priority.

The first bug is not CarPlay specific. This also happens with just iPhone after a longer break.

Good to know its not a wrong usage….I can deal with it but gives me many small tracks at the end of a day. No worries, the holidays were more important than those bugs.

Full disclosure - I didn't care in the least about carplay because I had no access to it... until yesterday, when I picked up a used (but new to me) Toyota. So I apologize if I'm suddenly asking stupid questions or pointing out the already obvious!

I tried to used Scenic with carplay to direct me home using a route I had created.  It seemed to work ok for a couple of hours, then suddenly about half-way home it stopped giving me directions - the pink line was still visible, and the vehicle icon continued to show correctly on the map, and the track I was driving was recorded.  But no more audible alerts or audible or visible directions.  Similar to above.

I pulled over to the side of the road and stopped the "ride," didn't bother saving anything, then opened the route again.  When immediately asked if I wanted directions to the start of the route, I chose no, and was prompted to join the route (which I was already on, of course) and continued on.  Yet Scenic behaved as if I was not on the route; it gave me no directions as before, but continued to prompt me to join the route, even though I was clearly driving right on the pink line...

That should not happen. Possibly also a bug. I'll look into it.

No breaks or stops - it happened while I was driving. I'm sorry I didn't save the recorded ride, in case it gave any insight...

Hmmm. OK. I'll investigate further.
