Carplay - Display Options

Hello,
is there an option to disable or at least shrink these Infopanels? I don't need all the information all time and would rather appreciate more overview on the map.

CarPlay is pretty limited. It works through templates provided by Apple.
It might be possible to disable them, but making them smaller is not an option.
I'll put it on the feature request list and investigate.

If you're enjoying Scenic and are happy with the support, please leave a nice rating in the App Store. It would mean a lot to me ❤️

As I told earlier I'm on a trip from Italy home, I find the displayed information helpful and big enough to read it with my old eyes. Perhaps it's possible to make the boxes a little bit transparent, so that the things behind them could be seen.

Hi

I am new to Scenic.

when using Scenic in CarPlay in both of our cars the displayed information over the maps is all cluttered against each other.

in the image you can see the turn direction panel covers the Speedo. Also compass heading and altitude is cluttered against each other.

all this info is to the right of the screen, not centred like it is on the bike head unit, or in the app on the iPhone

I have a Ford Ranger and. Kia Sorento. The display is the same in both cars.

However, the display on the motorcycle head unit that I’m using is perfect.

this is from the Ford Ranger screen;

‘this is how the iPhone displays the screen  it’s the same on the bike

It’s because of right hand drive CarPlay. Working on a fix. Here’s more info including workaround for the moment: https://scenic.app/forum/topic/car-play-screen-positioning/#postid-7018

Thanks Guido.

Hey, this is a great site and fantastic resource for us Scenic users. I've decided to let the subscription continue beyond the trial period which I think ends in a day or so.

Since buying the Chigee AOI-5 Lite CarPlay head unit I've trialed a number of bike related navigators. All of them had their good and not-so-good points. Some didn't have offline mapping, a necessity here in Australia where mobile coverage is patchy at best.

Some were severely limited during their trial phase (Scenic is fully functional so that allows us to fully test it before committing). Some kept crashing or trying to route me down the wrong roads (Waze is the worst for that).

So, I look forward to see how much further that Scenic is developed. And I'll be relying it on a cross-Australia trip later this year.

Just an update about Scenic and my overall experience with it.

Since the first post about Scenic and the subsequent updates, I can officially say that it's now my only in-car/on-bike navigator that I use.

In the Ford Ranger and the Kia Sorento, the app works great in CarPlay mode. On the bike and the Chigee unit, the same (although I wish that Chigee made it in a bigger screen - 5" isn't all that big).

Re-routing, screen display, everything works great.

I use Power Planner in the app that I run on my Mac Mini (with a 32" widescreen monitor), so that helps when making detailed routes. I use it in conjunction with Google Maps in another window when I have problems finding specific addresses or locations in  Power Planner. I think that this is down to Here's map detail which may not be as fine as Google.

Who wants to buy a slightly used Garmin Zumo XT????
