CarPlay 4.04 - Speedo Numbers Still Missing
Quote from johnsondvr on 28.10.2024, 11:30I have been using 4.04 which the app changes said that the missing Speedo numbers were fixed. However, I am still not seeing the numbers in CarPlay the same as reported here: https://scenic.app/forum/topic/carplay-4-02-speed-indication-missing/
This is both wired (Car) and wireless (bike). Sorry Guido.
App is looking good on CarPlay.

Quote from Cornworld on 28.10.2024, 13:56@johnsondvr Hi. With me the speed limit and actual speed also shows up as intended during day and evening, split and fullscreen. Weird.

Quote from Guido on 28.10.2024, 18:29Yes. Please let me know what you find. It could also be related to starting a navigation session on the phone and then connecting to CarPlay.

Quote from johnsondvr on 29.10.2024, 01:57Just had a quick test with turning on dark map and dark theme on the phone. When I then connect to CarPlay, I still have the light map!
I also tried starting the app on the phone before connecting CarPlay and also starting the app within CarPlay. This made no difference to the numbers showing or the night map showing on CarPlay.

Could you tell me your appearance settings on iPhone as well, so I can try to reproduce this?
- What is your setting in Scenic for General Appearance and for Navigation Appearance (Settings > Appearance & Colors)
- If navigation appearance is set to sunrise/sunset, are you riding in daytime, or night time?
- Also, your CarPlay unit typically has an appearance setting too (not the CarPlay settings you mentioned above, but in user interface of the unit itself, outside of the CarPlay interface).

Quote from aglavy on 29.10.2024, 12:00When I left for work this morning before sunrise, speedometer worked because it was in night mode (black background with white speed). As soon as it automatically changed to daylight mode, speed background was white and I could not see the speed. I assume colors were white number on white background. When I exceed speedlimit, speed shows as a red number in white background. I changed carplay manually to night mode and speed reverted back to black background with with numbers.

Quote from johnsondvr on 29.10.2024, 12:20Hi @guidomm, response to your questions in RED although most of the testing has been done in daytime:
- What is your setting in Scenic for General Appearance and for Navigation Appearance (Settings > Appearance & I have tried all the configurations for both General Appearance and Navigation Appearance with no change to the speedo numbers not being displayed below the speed limit.
- If navigation appearance is set to sunrise/sunset, are you riding in daytime, or night time? Daytime when in this setting. Not really tried
- Also, your CarPlay unit typically has an appearance setting too (not the CarPlay settings you mentioned above, but in user interface of the unit itself, outside of the CarPlay interface). The Car unit has Day and night Mode which is set according to whether the main headlights are manually activated on or auto on.Most of the testing has been done in the car through wired CarPlay although the same problem exists with the Chigee AIO5 Play on my bike through a wireless connection. Hope this helps.

Quote from Lo100469 on 30.10.2024, 11:01Hi Guido, i tested version 4.04 on CarPlay wired this afternoon, thanks for the efforts, the app looks great and i did not face any major issue during the test.
As others, on light mode, i can only see the speed / speed limit while speeding when numbers turn red. I switched to dark mode and will check tomorrow on a much longer journey.
Keep the updates coming !
Thanks
Laurent
