BMW Connected Cradle vs Wunderlinq?
Quote from schalex on 22.03.2022, 08:16Hey Guido, do you still own your BMW where you showed the wunderlinq integration on your YouTube-Channel?
if so, BMW released a smart phone cradle, that can be put in the navigator preparation, just like wunderlinq does and you can control your phone with the wheel dial on the left grip.
page from the press release (couldn’t find a English one unfortunately): https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/deutschland/article/detail/T0359132DE/bmw-motorrad-praesentiert-das-connectedride-cradle?language=de
it works even with older BMWs that don’t have the new TFT screen.
I have a 2016 BMW and am quite interested if you can try to get it to work with little editing of the wunderlinq integration. If you could get this to work, I would buy that cradle.
i know the community for this is very small but I know you love and improve wunderlinq, so if the cradle works similar, would be fantastic.
anyway, I would go to a BMW dealer and check the cradle with my bike, to see how much functionality it has with my older bike. That’s not enough to justify the cost of the cradle but if it works with scenic, I would buy it.
maybe ask your dealer if you can try this cradle.greetings, Alex

Getting more requests about supporting the cradle. Unfortunately for the moment it only works with BMW’s own app, and BMW has not released any documentation for developers.
There is another thread with more info. Let’s try and keep all info on that thread: https://scenic.app/forum/topic/scenic-v3-and-new-bmw-connectedride-cradle/
Cheers,
Guido
